By the look of it, Theresa May’s deal is dead on arrival – all 585 pages of it, thousands of man hours of painstaking negotiation in the making. This is more than a shame, because to my mind her plan did provide some sort of a viable path, however meandering, through the Brexit morasse that could eventually have led to the desired destination.
